To that end, we are proud to introduce Alex Rodriguez, our new Student Engagement Coordinator—a leader who brings both federal legislative experience and a deep-seated commitment to the Indiana community.
A Hoosier Through and Through While he didn’t start his journey in Monroe County, Alex’s roots are firmly planted in Indiana soil. He brings a valuable perspective that bridges the gap between different parts of our state.
“While I unfortunately was not born in Bloomington, I am still a full-fledged Hoosier as I was born and raised a short while away in Indianapolis. Despite this fact, I have still spent the past four years of my life living in the Bloomington area, which has opened my eyes to the various issues that Candidate Arrington plans on tackling.”
From Capitol Hill to Campus We value team members who have seen how government works from the inside out. During the spring of 2025, Alex had the privilege of working for Congresswoman Nellie Pou. Seeing the legislative process up close solidified his path toward a life of advocacy.
“This internship gave me stronger motivations to dedicate myself to public service.”
Driven by Purpose and Policy Currently a junior at Indiana University double-majoring in Criminal Justice and Political Science, Alex isn’t just studying the system—he is preparing to actively improve it.
“Following graduation, I have aspirations of attending a post-graduate master’s program where I hope to receive my master’s in Political Science. I also hope to have the opportunity to attend law school, where I plan to study immigration law, so I can give back to the community that helped compose my strong morals and beliefs.”

“I believe that with the current political climate, it is essential to have progressive leadership that has concrete beliefs and morals. For those reasons, I am excited to have the incredible opportunity to work with Candidate Arrington.”
The Bottom Line: The IU Vote Alex has been entrusted with one of the most strategically critical roles on our team: presenting our case to the Indiana University community. We firmly believe the IU vote will be a deciding factor in this race, and we are eternally grateful for the enthusiasm and time Alex is dedicating to this movement.
