PUTTING PEOPLE FIRST:
A prosecutor’s office isn’t just about the courtroom; it’s about what happens to the families and children left in the wake of a crisis. To build a justice system that actually heals the community, you need people who understand trauma from the inside out.
That is why we are so incredibly honored to welcome Christina Taylor to the team as our new Senior Advisor for Victim Advocacy.
Christina isn’t a politician—she is a lifelong advocate who has spent her career on the front lines of Monroe County’s most complex social challenges. Here is why her voice is so vital to Ben’s vision for the future.
A Foundation of Service and Empathy Service runs deep in Christina’s blood. Raised as the daughter of a combat veteran, she grew up with a profound respect for accountability, patriotism, and stepping up for your community. A 2013 graduate of the University of Southern Indiana, she earned her degree in Communication Studies with an emphasis in Rhetoric and Diversity. This gave her the exact tools she needed to become a fierce, effective voice for those who often go unheard.
In the Trenches of Social Work Christina didn’t learn about the gaps in our system from a textbook; she lived them alongside the families she served. Starting in 2015 as a Head Start Case Manager, she worked directly with parents and young children to connect them with critical lifelines.
Later that year, she stepped into one of the most demanding roles in public service: joining the Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS). Over four years, she wore multiple hats—from mentor to DNA diagnostic specialist to county adoption specialist. Her sole focus was protecting vulnerable kids and helping fractured families find safe, permanent homes.
A Holistic Approach to Justice Since 2019, Christina has expanded her mission, tackling the intersecting crises of addiction recovery, homelessness, and mental health. She knows firsthand that we cannot prosecute our way out of these issues; we need comprehensive, trauma-informed solutions.
Why This Fight is Personal Outside of her heavy professional work, Christina is a wildly proud aunt to five girls and one boy. Having witnessed the brutal realities children face in the welfare system, her commitment to making Bloomington safer isn’t just a job—it’s deeply personal.
Christina’s work on this campaign will ensure that our policy platform doesn’t just talk about justice, but actively prioritizes accountability, robust protection for victims, and long-term community safety.
If you see Christina out on the campaign trail, please thank her for her incredible service to our community’s families!
